French Doors
by A1 Windows
Classic double-panel doors with elegant divided-lite glass. Fiberglass frames built for Georgia's climate — lasting beauty with zero maintenance.
Two Panels. Full Opening. Timeless Style.
French doors are a double-door system where both panels are hinged and operable — meaning you can open one side for everyday use, or both sides for a wide, unobstructed opening up to 72 inches across. That combination of everyday convenience and occasional grand opening is something sliding or single-panel doors simply can't replicate.
The defining feature is the divided-lite glass: each panel is filled with large glass sections separated by thin muntins (the bars between the panes). You can choose colonial grids, prairie patterns, or clean unobstructed glass. Either way, French doors flood a room with natural light from floor to ceiling.
We install fiberglass French doors rather than wood. In Georgia's heat and humidity, wood frames absorb moisture, swell, warp, and eventually require painting and refinishing every few years. Fiberglass frames look like wood grain but never rot, never need painting, and never bind in the frame. Twenty years from now, they'll operate exactly as they do the day we install them.
Resist Georgia's humidity and UV — no warping, swelling, or repainting ever.
We configure the swing direction based on your layout and how you use the space.
Fixed glass panels flanking the doors for extra light and a more architectural look.
Colonial, prairie, craftsman, or clear — we match your home's existing architectural style.
Four Reasons French Doors Are Worth It
Instant Elegance
French doors are one of the few door types that immediately change how a room feels — more open, more light, more architectural character.
Wide Clear Opening
Open both panels for up to 72 inches of unobstructed access — ideal for moving furniture, entertaining large groups, or connecting spaces.
Energy-Efficient Glass
Double-pane Low-E glass with tight weatherstripping means all that glass works for you — not against your energy bills — through Georgia summers.
Solid Security
Multi-point locking engages at top, middle, and bottom simultaneously — far more secure than a single-point deadbolt on a traditional door.
Why Material Choice Matters in Marietta
Humidity-Proof Fiberglass
Georgia averages 72% relative humidity. Wood doors absorb that moisture and eventually warp, bind, and crack their paint. Fiberglass frames are dimensionally stable — they won't swell shut in July or gap in January.
UV-Stable Color Through
Paint on wood doors oxidizes and fades under Georgia's intense UV exposure. Fiberglass finishes are UV-stable — the color penetrates the material rather than sitting on top of it. No repainting for the life of the door.
Storm-Resistant Glass
All glass is tempered safety glass. Large glass panels in French doors need to meet the same safety standards as patio doors — we install to code for every opening, every time.
